Spotify ISRC Lookup: Find the ISRC of a Track, or the Tracks Behind an ISRC
Two questions come up again and again: what is the ISRC of this Spotify track, and where does this ISRC appear? How to answer both, by hand and with a tool.

An ISRC lookup answers one of two questions. Either you have a track and need its code, or you have a code and want to know where it sits on Spotify.
What you are looking for
An ISRC has twelve characters: two letters for the country, three characters for whoever registered it, two digits for the year and five for the number, for example US-S1Z-25-00001. It is often written without the dashes. A lookup accepts both.
From a track to its ISRC
Spotify does not show the ISRC in its app. You have three ways to get it:
- Your distributor. The release page lists the ISRC of every track. This is the source of truth for your own music.
- Spotify for Artists. Open a song and look at its details.
- A lookup tool. Paste the track link and read the code. For an album you get every track with its ISRC and the UPC of the release in one list, which saves opening each song.
From an ISRC to its tracks
This is the reverse lookup. You enter an ISRC and get every track on Spotify that carries it. Several hits are normal:
- The same recording on a single and on the album.
- The same recording on compilations.
- A deluxe or anniversary edition.
A hit is worth a second look when the track sits under an artist you do not know, or when your recording appears on a release you never delivered.
What a lookup is good for
- Filling in a form. Collecting societies, sync requests and distributors all ask for ISRCs.
- Checking a delivery. Did every track go live with the code you sent?
- Before a re-release. Reusing the ISRC keeps the play count. A lookup shows which code the live version has.
- Clearing up duplicates. See every copy of a recording at a glance.
Lookups in LabelSentry
LabelSentry has both directions built in: ISRC by Track takes a track or album link, Track by ISRC takes the code and lists every place it appears, with the artist, the release and whether the track is online. Metadata Lookup adds UPC, label, copyright lines and the countries a track can be played in.
Questions people also ask
Can I see the ISRC in the Spotify app?
No. The app does not show it. Use your distributor, Spotify for Artists or a lookup tool.
Why does one ISRC return several tracks?
Because one recording can sit on a single, an album and compilations at the same time. They all share the code.
